The Matarbari Coal Jetty is a specialized port profile supporting larger vessels and tide-aware berthing. It is positioned for faster cargo discharge through self-unloader operations and heavy project cargo handling.
Matarbari Coal Jetty
Vessel having LOA up to 230 M with fresh water draft 11.5 M can take berth at Matarbari Coal Jetty. No restriction on DWT, beam, air draft. Channel draft 12 M with sufficient UKC. Berthing and unberthing always on HW tide. Density varies 1012-1018 kg/m3 on HW and LW. Lightering is strictly prohibited.
Pilot will be provided by Chittagong Port. 4 tugs will be used during berthing and unberthing.
Chittagong Port Authority provide two tugs and agent will have to arrange privately 2 tugs.
Vessel discharging cargo by terminal self-unloader (bucket type cycling cranes) on conveyor belt and discharge rate between 25,000-30,000 MT/Day IAGW/WP.
